Getting your students
Employer Ready

"Over the last four years student satisfaction ratings have increased considerably and I believe part of this is due to the employability workshops Angus has been running here over that time"
Francine Le Saint, Lancashire Business School

What we do - all we do - is run webinars and workshops to give students the ‘inside’ knowledge, skills and confidence to get through the common elements of an assessment centre.

Training is delivered by an experienced ex-Head of Graduate Recruitment and focusses on practical tips and tricks.

Over 90% of students who have attended our training say they feel better prepared as a result.

But don’t take our word for it,  read some of the real feedback we get from students!

Campus workshops

Most of the work we do on campuses comprises practical and interactive 2-3 hour workshops as follows:

Workshop A: “Have you got what it takes?”

We lift the lid on what employers are really after and the three reasons applicants fail. Students practise ability tests, a written exercise and an interview and we give them some clever tricks to get through the most common selection methods out there. This is our most popular workshop.  You can download a workshop outline here.

Workshop B: “Pitch perfect!”

Group exercises are the downfall of many candidates. In this session students work through a typical business case study in a small team before presenting their recommendations to a ‘client’. They’ll then get feedback on their performance - a great experience!  You can download a workshop outline here.

Workshop C: “The 12 employability skills all businesses want!”

This session gives students an overview of the six key skills needed to get a great job in the first place and the six skills they’ll need to succeed in it. As part of this we run an interactive exercise to illustrate many of these skills and give students tips on how to start or continue developing them over the months ahead.  You can download workshop outline here.

Workshop D: “Arts students mean business!”

A crash course in commerciality for non-relevant students to develop their knowledge confidence and credibility to recruiters. After considering how and why businesses exist in the first place students learn how to make sense of financial information. After that we’ll introduce them to business strategy and commercial risk management.

Shorter sessions

We also run shorter 45-60 minute sessions for conferences or other student events, such as:

"How to get rejected in 7 easy steps"
"Working that room: an introduction to networking for students"
"Write gooder: avoiding the common pitfalls of applications"

Individual coaching

If you need some one to one help, perhaps having graduated recently and still struggling to get through employer selection programmes, then get in touch. We will find out a little more about  your particular circumstances and career goals and put together a package of support for you.
